Solaris 10 x86 SATA support

Hi! My name is Federico, and I'm from Argentina. I know this question has been asked a million times but I couldn't find an answer yet...

I want to install Solaris 10 on my PC. I have a ASUS A7N8XE Deluxe motherboard and a Maxtor 80 gb SATA HDD. The SATA controller is Silicon Image 3112. When I run the installation it doesn't detect my disk so I can't install. I've spent hours reading and no solutions yet... Any ideas to get this to work?

Thanks in advance,

Federico.

PS: Sorry for my poor English, be nice with me! =P

PS 2: I don't have a cent so I'm not buying a IDE HDD! =D

Try solaris express, it's got better SATA support/A

Hi, i'm Chris from Argentina.

Same Hardware A7n8x-e Deluxe, and same problem. Solaris 10 is unable to detect mi SATA harddrive.

I do have a PATA harddrive so i'll try to install it in there. But i want mi Sata to work.

I'll continue searching for a solution a while before using a pata hd.
