Resetting OBP on Fire V880

Hi,

I've set the OBP variables of a Sun Fire V880 to:

/usr/sbin/eeprom "input-device=rsc-console"

/usr/sbin/eeprom "output-device=rsc-console"

But I can't access the Console by using RSC neither on the serial Port nor on the network.

The machine is not accessable on OS-Level so I need to change the values of "input-device" an "output-device" to the default values.

How can I change this values or reset the OBP without having access to the console or to the OS?

Is the memory which hold's the values resetable by removing any batterie? If yes, where is this battery located?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Steffen

I found the solution:- Power down the machine- Remove the power cables- Remove the RSC-Card from the system board- Power on the machine- The values of "input-device" and "input-device" will be set automatically to "ttya"

did you reboot the system after setting the input/output device?also, if you have a recent OBP version (i think its 4.15 or older) setting the system to 'diag-mode' by using the keyswitch should also redirect the output to ttya. .7/M.
