oraarch1, oraarch2, oraredo1, oraredo2 of Oracle RAC on cluster file system

Hi,

I am planning to configure oracle rac on a two node sun cluster with shared external storage. I know that we can use create raw devices and use them. But the question is,

Can I have oraarch1, oraarch2, oraredo1, oraredo2 on cluster file system instead of OCFS.

If yes, please share any reference/document where I can find the implementation example.

Thanks for the help in advance.

IIRC you'ld have to use QFS, but i might be wrong. There is a Sun document at: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-0583/6n30h62v7?a=view#fmnym .7/M.

IIRC, you can put any RAC object on shared QFS. However, with the Sun Cluster global file system, you can only put the archive redo logs on it.Tim

You could, but do Oracle support it? ;) .7/M.
