remote access to Solaris 10 issues

Hello I have recently installed Solaris 10 06/06 on a sun blade hardware. I have had no issues installing it. Since I had no keyborad and mouse I had to use the console to install it. I repeat no issues with installation.

I have the following issues

a) I can't ssh into the box as root from a different PC. Randomly I get connected and then the connection drops and I am not able to log back in. I have modified the /etc/ssh/sshd_config to permit root login. I can ssh from the box to itself that is ssh localhost.

b) I can't scp into the box from remote machine because I get a message denied access.

c) I enabled FTP and removed root from /etc/ftpd/ftpusers. I can remotely FTP into the box. I got in once and then it dropped the connection. I can ftp from the box to itself that is ftp localhost.

d) I have issues with using Exceed. I get into the box using exceed and then suddenly I lose the connection

I have been crazy figuring out what is going on here. I have searched so many forums but not luck. Please somebody she some light.

this sounds like an intermittent networking issue, are there any errors showing in /var/adm/messages?

looks like i have isolated the problem thanks for your simple tip. I should have checked it before going on a different tangent. The IP address I had assigned to the box is being used by another PC brought recently on the LAN. I have changed the IP address of my box and going to monitor the performance. But the person who has brought up the other PC is going to get peace of my mind.
