sysidcfg does not work for local zone
Hi All,
I am having trouble using sysidcfg to configure my zone. It is as follows:
system_locale=C
timezone=US/Central
timeserver=localhost
name_service=DNS {
domain_name=xxx.edu
name_server=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
search=xxx.edu
}
network_interface=primary {
hostname=xxxx
}
terminal=xterm
root_password=xxxxxxxx
security_policy=NONE
I put this in: <zone root>/etc ... then I boot the zone. None of the options seem to work as I get:
SunOS Release 5.10 Version Generic_118833-24 64-bit

(See /lib/svc/share/README for more information.)
Console login service(s) cannot run

The system will not accept the root password I put in sysidcfg, and it
will accpet control-d, only an empty password to get to the root shell.
Once I am there, I notice that my terminal is wrong ..
Also no /etc/resolv.conf
So most/all parameters in the sysidcfg were ignored, however it had the effect of stopping the system from asking the start-up questions.
On the Sun web site I found "Bug ID: 5012250" but no solution?
Thank you for your help ...
FD
