Network based installation

I did a network based installation of Solaris 10. While creating the install server i didnot exclude anything from the installation CD. Now when I check the machine where I have installed the OS via the network the development packages, the man files are missing. Am I doing something wrong. Please let me know.

I also have one more question. I have enabled rexec. I am able to contact this machine using rexec. But I am not able to find an rexec client which can be used for contacting other machine from this machine via rexec.

thanks & regards,

rathi

see following

echo $MANPATH should show something like this.

:/usr/man:/usr/share/man:/opt/SUNWexplo/man:/opt/SUNWsneep/man:/opt/CTEact/man

There is possibility that you missed some CD. What is release of Solaris 10? June 06 release has 5 CD's and Jan 06 has 4 CD's.

Are you sure you have used all CD's? Are u using flash installation of jump start ?

I am using the June 06 release. I have 5 CD's and I am sure I didnot miss any. Even I have set the MANPATH but still I am not able to see the manual. I am using a dhcp based PXEBoot.

Dear Mahendra,

thanks for the command. i was able to find the the mistake i had done. I had installed the OS for SUNWCuser so the man and development tools were not available in my installation. it appears to be a very basic mistake but i am very new to solaris. many thanks for solving my problem.

regards,

rathi
