11/06 on SunBlade 100 install problem.
My SunBlade 100 had 06/06 installed on it. I attempted the 11/06 install as an upgrade and it died after CD #1. Since this is just my test box (to see if OS updates/patches break anything), I went ahead and attempted fresh install. Results are exactly the same!
After rebooting (after CD #1 is complete), I get "/usr/sbin/fsck not found" and some stuff about /usr may be damaged, etc. Then the system wants to go into maintenance mode.
Anyone else run across this issue? Any solutions?
I have to say I was impressed to see that 11/06 can do more secure install, with only SSHD being active. Nice to see that option. Not sure what else it may have of interest, but I guess I'll have to live without it until I can figure out why it won't complete the install!

Same to me. I tried to install 11/06 on a ultra 5 and a ultra 10. I burned CDs and DVD on different machines many times, at low speed, after checking md5 checksum, nope, the installation fails from CD 1. In the past I did't have this problems on sparc machines using burned CDs.

I'm using a Blade 100 myself and I can confirm that it will happily run the 10/11 release without any problem (the official release, not the express). Not really sure what is going on since the installer uses a few checksums if I'm not mistaken.
Did you re-partition or format the slices during re-installation or did you leave those as is? I'm not sure if fsck is installed in the first run, but I can imagine that it might give you problems if Solaris considers the filesystem to be 'dirty'.
