Installing new CD-Writer

Hi,

I've just recently installed an HP 9600 series SCSI CD-Writer into an Ultra 30 system.

Question: Where do I hook up the sound output of the CD-Writer onto the motherboard? Or better yet, is there documentation showing me where to connect the soud cable from the CD-writer to the motherboard?

Thank you in advance,

James Falknor

Lee does remember correctly.

There's no audio connector, directly on the U-30 board.

The best you could hope for, is that if your Sun system has that useless

audio interface card in it, you might try to run a 3.5mm stereo-to-mono wire

from the CD-RW's headphone jack, around to the microphone jack of that card.

(the headphone output is an amplified signal, not a line-level output,

thus it would go to the mike jack)

An application would then have to be able to use the input signal, to accomplish anything.

I wouldn't get any hopes up for success.
