V-215 DB-9 adapter

My company purchased a V-215 server and lo and behold we can't do anything with it because we didn't get a DB-9 adapter with it. It's not listed in the kit contents either. So when you purchase a entry level server from Sun, it really means that you already need Sun specific adapters from you other Sun servers. Where do I get one in Colorado Springs? I needed the server up today. I guess I'll just mothball it and buy a Dell server from a local company interested in customer satisfaction. All for want of a 25 cent adapter. Am I pissed? Yes.

rasmith,

These forums are NOT a part of Sun's techsupport.

They are simply here for user-to-user conversations

about Sun's products.Although employees may

occasionally visit and participate in discussion threads,

they do so as individuals, not as representatives of the company.

... are you sure the adapter isn't buried among the packing materials ?

I suggest you contact your Sun account representative

for the fastest response. You can also log a legitimate

support case by phoning directly to the N. American

Support Center. You would reach them at

800-USA-4-SUN( 800-872-4786 ).

Warranty response for a V215 is (I think ...) next-business-day callback.

With today as the Friday before a Monday Christmas,

and with next week being a Sun shutdown week,

that would mean a callback on Tuesday January 2nd,

unless there is a Gold or Platinum service contract on that serial number.

Thus the fastest answer would be your Sun account representative.
