V20Z cpu upgrade
Hello,
I've got a V20Z with an opteron 244 installed. I wish to know if it's possible to upgrade with a pair of 270 (dual core). I've read somewhere that not every V20Z can accept dual core CPUs. Can you help me, or address me to the right place to find information about my question?

If you have a login account to Sunsolve, use it and go to the Sun System Handbook.
That Spectrum version for the V20z has details that are not visible in the free edition of the SSH.

Yes, it's possible.
Sun has already qualified and sells an E6 stepping Opteron 270 kit for that platform.

Long answer?
You cannot do it if you have a 'vintage' model of the V20z,
because the dual-core modules need a different systemboard.
That newer board is part of a V20Z "super-CRU".
(a complete computer system, but without RAM or CPU's)
