CPU comparison

Dear professional,Does 64-bit dual-core Intel Xeon 3.0GHz 1333 FSB processor w/ 4M cashe faster then 900MHz UltraSPARC-III w/8MB external cache?Thanks a lot!

Yes

Any 1333MHz FSB dual-core module will be "faster"

than an UltraSPARC single-core module with a 150MHz FSB.

Will it do more work?

Impossible to tell; probably not.

You didn't describe how you intend to use it.

In truth, this can be described as an absurd question.

It is similar to asking:

"Does a Lamborghini have a faster engine than a Volkswagon Jetta?"

Sure, but neither will get you to the local market store any quicker than the other,

because the road has a stop sign at three of the interim intersections.

This sort of inquiry appears all over the Internet every so often.

Microchip "speed" has little to do with actual productivity.

You are asking for a comparison between two disparate things.

Please do some additional research, such as learning about RISC and CISC architectures.

Use your preferred web search engine, or perhaps your favorite

technical web site for such research. Here are a couple of starter links.
