Having trouble getting SSGD working after install.

The main welcome page comes up remotely through a browser, but clicking the login button results in:

"Secure Global Desktop connection lost

The connection to Secure Global Desktop server has been lost. The error reported was:

Unable to connect: Connection refused

To reconnect, we suggest you restart your web browser and try logging into Secure Global Desktop again.

If problems persist, contact a Secure Global Desktop Administrator. "

Haven't found any good troubleshooting documentation yet. Any suggestions on things to try/places to look?

Well, to update...

- I did a fresh install of Solaris and SSGD on a Sun Blade 150, followed the instructions to the letter and ended up in exactly the same position.

- Then, unfortunately there was a server crash over Xmas of a working SSGD server that I support. Config files were mangled, and on rebuild it now also exhibits the same issue!

Well, after several hours of support from Sun, we've got one of them working! Hopefully I can duplicate the success on the other demo servers I was attempting to setup!

My first thought is that you are using a http-proxy server and the proxy of the browser is different then the proxy of the java runtime environment. (Happened to me quite a lot when running windows and using firefox. The JRE takes the proxy settings from IE).

Can you state what did solve your problem?

Well, on the crashed server we had to uninstall --purge and completely reinstall and rebuild everything... Could not salvage the install, but it came up after all that work.

The demo (potential future licensed SSGD box if I can get it to work) still won't go. tarantella security start pops up a "namenotfound" error and lists the shortname of the box (sgd), NOT the FQDN of (sgd.sample.com). The Tarantella software has been uninstalled --purge, and WAS installed with the FQDN, but somehow security start is picking up the wrong name from somewhere.

sounds like you are having DNS (or lack of) issues. Check that you are using fully qualified domain names and that the server and domain can be resolved.wrt security, have you configured a X.509 cert for this new server?

Well, I gave up and decided to start completely over :) Reformatted my test app and ssgd servers. Left the hostname as "unknown" rather than fighting with them trying to change it. Installed my SunRays on the app server and then installed SSGD on the ssgd server. Configured it to work by IP address only (in the arraymanager) and thereby avoiding having to mess around with all the DNS issues. Everything seems to work great so far (as far as SSGD goes). Still may run into some issues once I setup my apps though! :)

Either way, this thread can be considered done!
