Problems with StarOffice when used from SSGD.
If SSGD is used for "full desktop" sessions, we encounter issues with SO8 only showing the splash screen. It will usually happen after logging in from one location, using it, logging out, traveling to a second location and logging back in. Once logged in at a second location, SO will refuse to open properly until the system is rebooted.
Ideas?

is it a display issue? Are you going from one screen size to another?
what version of SGD?
what OS is SO installed on?
what is the DisplayUsing attribute you are using for the object? When you say "full desktops" do you mean Kiosk?
which system needs to be rebooted? client, SGD server or app server?

Display sizes could be different, but the user logs out before moving on...
Version of SGD, not sure, how do I find out?
We're running on Solaris x86 1/06.
DisplayUsing attribute unknown off the top of my head. It's back to whatever the default is (after much playing around with it due to OTHER SSGD issues).
The system that needs to be rebooted is the server, it does SGD and apps. We have it rebooting automatically every night due to issues like this.

$ tarantella version
sounds like you have more than just this issue to contend with.
While rebooting is providing relief, it's not a good idea to use this as a long term solution.
Without knowing more about your setup, I suspect that the problem might be configuration related.
Have you opened a case with Sun support center to investigate the need to reboot to workaround your problems?

Version is (4.20.977).
I'm loaded with issues with SSGD :) All kinds of interesting screen artifact issues, weird StarOffice issues that only occur over SSGD, etc.
Yep, rebooting every night is definitely NOT how I want this to run long-term, but that's how it's going to be until I can get some of the weirdness fixed. I'm putting together a second system with a SSGD demo license to see if I can duplicate these bugs...
I attempted to open a Sun case, but it appears that SSGD is NOT covered under our contract (looks like we just have a hardware and Solaris contract).
