Profiles flexibility

Hi all,

This is my first topic and I have never used SGD before :S.

We are thinking about deploying SGD in my company.

IT experts are quite concerned about Profiles, and this is why I want to ask you about the flexibility in the creation of profiles.

Assume you have a bunch of groups of people and applications.

One person belongs to two groups.

We dont want to add a new profile for the unification of those groups.

Can I add both profiles to this person, so that he will have access to the applications of both groups?

I hope that the idea is clear enough.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Juan

are you speaking of Profiles, as in roaming Profiles in a AD environment?

If so then you can leverage the Directory Services Integration feature in SGD to handle a person in multiple groups and how to provide them a dynamic webtop.

http://docs.sun.com/source/819-4309-10/en-us/base/standard/using_dsi.html

So while this is not using profiles, it will allow you to use your AD configuration without having to create additional profiles in your Windows environment or groups in SGD.

If this is not what you are looking for, please clarify.
