Installing Sun One Portal Server 7

I am trying to install Sun One Portal Server 7 on my local (SLED10.1, AMD64), however, having selected the components I wish to install the and the installation directories. The available disk space fails saying I do not have enough space in the root / directory. I am not installing any components in the root partition. My hard drive has multiple partitions and I am installing to /usr/local/share which has plenty of space available!

Why does the disk space fail and how can i work around this?
