rewriter performance

Hi ,

Any body can help me how to improve the rewriter performance.

I am using rewrieter ,Gateway with sun portal server 7. When I am deactivating the rewriter and activating the proxylet then performance is fast as expected.

But requirment is I have to access the other application which is running on different domain and DNS through portal server.

It is not accessible through proxylet . It is saying '"Unable to connect the host" . If I am using rewriter but the performance is very slow.

So please help me how to improve the performance or how I can access the othere application in portal through proxylet.
