What is the point of one learning in an authorized training center from sun when one can learn the same course for almost less that 60% less than sun authorized center fee and get throught the course.
Does sun state that one should only get training from sun authorized training center?
are there any benfits attending a authorized training center?

Yes, start reading the Java tutorial and there are a lot of books available in the market aimed specifically at SCJP. Choose any book.

I doubt that.

You can say you were trained there. It might hold a bit more credibility than a place someone hasn't ever heard of.

Study lots maybe ? Not sure. I have been trying to decide myself what sort of training to go for, and if certificates are worthwhile or not. I know I can use the info in courses, but it's a question of which will be the most beneficial for me.
