Can you log into AmConsole?

I'm currently facing a similar issue, and on my system it used to work. Not sure what I broke, and no time to play, this week.

I believe that DA itself has a "user" that it authenticates to, and then checks your password. It's likely that the DA user is hosed.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I have to say I can not see the login page for amconsole at all as soon as I type in /amconsole or /amserver my browser get redirected and I get the page can not be displayed, I don't know if amserver and amconsole are related to DA, however I tried to stop the directory server, but I don't see any change in behavior of system, it seems my DA can not connect to Directory Server, I don't know where to start and how to track the problem.

Best regards

Mo.

Hm. You did install Access Manager, right? If not, then DA can't work, as DA depends on Access Manager. DA also depends on you selecting Schema 2 during your install. If you've selected Schema 1, then you cannot use DA, you have to use the old iPlanet iDA, a separate download.

Hi,

I always find it useful to restart the web-container (whether that be webserver or appserver) that DA/Access Manager is installed in if for some reason they are having problems authenticating to the directory server.

Make sure that your directory server is up and running (have a look at the access logs) BEFORE restarting the web-container.
