Creating a mailing list on Messaging Server 5.2

Hi all,

We're creating a mailing list for the SAP users through the LDAP GUI console.

The way to create a simple mailing list is clearly described on

http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6009-10/users.htm#13830

(Iplanet Messaging server 5.2 Administrator's guide)

our problem is that we want to add some extra functionalities to the sap mailing list and we're not sure if this is possible or not.

Let me explain what we've already defined and what we are looking for:

* We've created the Zlist SAP User mailing list, its mail address is "user.sap@pyrenees.ad" and right now there are two email only members.

* We need to add these functionalities:

- Add a signature to the emails send to the mailing list, something like :

" Please don't reply to this email address, its specific for notification messages."

- Don't allow that the users reply to "user.sap@pyrenees.ad" email

address, and if anyone reply to the email the email arrives to

an alternative email address under systems department supervision, instead of "user.sap@pyrenees.ad"

Is there any way to get this extra functionalities?

Any help will be really welcome.

Thanks in advance

Kind Regards

No.

Unless you can gurantee that all messages are completely text, Messaging 5.2 cannot add sig files. Require that the users sending to the list do it.

Add the

mgrpErrorsTo attribute to the group to convert it to a list.

http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6021-10/schatt.htm#41670

Give the return address you want used to the list itself....

And

have whoever is sending to the list use a "reply-to" in the mail itself.
