Changing uid=admin password...DPS fails to start afterwards?

I am trying to change the password on a DPS server and when you restart it is fails. A Sun rep told me to just put {CLEAR}password in the tailor.txt file and it should work, but I tried and it still fails to start. The DPS is logging into the DS with the wrong password.

Here's how I changed it, I logged into the web console for the DPS server and opened up the Adminstration Server. I then click on the Configuration tab and then the Access tab. I then type the password in twice and click save. If you go into the DS, the admin account's password is set correctly, but it is not changing in the tailor.txt file.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

I don't think that it is valid to put the {CLEAR}password in the tailor.txt for DPS. This notation is mostly used by Directory Server and not Directory Proxy Server.I would definitely avoid setting password using the {CLEAR} or {SSHA} prefixes. Regards,Ludovic.

I don't really want to put it in clear text but I'm just trying anything to get the password to change. Can anyone tell me how to change it?
