Test Connection to SAP locks SAP account.

HI,

I have a user setup on SAP for IdM to connect to SAP ERP (NOT HR) resource. We recently changed the password for the IdM user account and i did not change any other connection parameters. When I do a test connection I get and error saying the password in incorrect. However when I try to connect directly to SAP I can successfully login.

I know I am reaching the SAP box thru IdM because after 3 unsuccessful attempts the account gets locked.

Is IdM do any Hocus Pocus on the password when I try to connect? Any Ideas are greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Check if you are using the uppercase password option in the resource adapter configuration or if you need to use it.

Uppercase password option is turned off.

Check if you need to turn on that option and that the password is correct, or turn on a Trace on the RA class. This is the only way to know what is happening there.

I have changed multiple times the configuration data on a SAP RA (changing from dev to test environments) and I didn't have any problems.

See you

I dont know any one has seen this before but from my testing it appears that the SAP adapter changes passwords to UPPERCASE by default, even if 'uppercase password' option is unchecked in SAP adapter configuration. Note that the documentation for SAP adapter still says

'IdM provides resource adapter supports teh following versions of SAP

* SAP r/3 4.5,4.6,4.7 ....'

I was trying to connect to SAP RCC 6 version.

- As long as teh password in SAP is all caps the connection works.

- If password in SAP is all caps, password entered in Idm is lower case connection still works. Does not matter if the 'Uppercae Password' option is checked.

- If the password in SAP is not all caps, I was never able to connect to SAP thru IdM.

Interesting?

Please let me know if anyone has seen this behavior when connecting to SAP RCC 6
