smpatch: Failure: Connection reset

How to fix the Connection reset issue on my SPARC machine? I had another Solaris 10x86 machine, it did not have this issue?

Hello Ming Hou,

It is unclear from the output which you have provided what the issue is. Please can you describe in as much detail the problem which you are currently experiencing?

The only thing of any note is that you do not have the most current: Sun Update Connection System Client patch installed:

121118-08

Please can you download and install this patch.

After completion of the above please can you run:

smpatch analyze

And return the output generated/

121118-08 may be downloaded manually from SunSolve and installed this way , thereafter you smpatch should be ok.

This patch does not require a contract to download , simply a Sun Online Account

Thanks,Evidently it was a sun host issue because this morning smpatch is reporting "No patches required." so it is working.Unfortunately error messages are the same.I was getting the error. Fri Nov 10 20:57:35 EST 2006Regards

So to clarify, you are no longer having problems and everything is working fine?

Additionally, to the best of my knowledge there were no problems on our end which would have caused the errors that were initially reported.

Yes thanks, it is working now.

I am certain that when I was getting "Connection reset" that my connection to the internet was good. I did a traceroute to sun.com to verify. I did not test beyond that.

Does Sun have a continuous external availability monitor testing the update connection servers functionality?

Is that what your looking at when you say there were no known problems?

_junkken at 2007-7-7 3:30:17 > top of Java-index,Administration Tools,Sun Update Connection-System...

Yes, there is availability monitoring in place.

Is there a way to determine what login name smpatch uses on a given machine?I have several accounts for update connection but can't seem to find the one my machine is using / registered under.
_junkken at 2007-7-7 3:30:17 > top of Java-index,Administration Tools,Sun Update Connection-System...
# 11
I'm afraid only the unique asset ID of the registered system is stored on the system and not the Sun account name.

So what are my options? Can I re-register the machine or should I call someone or what?
