What are characteristics of an application for clusterded environment?

What are characteristics of an application that should run in a

clustered/high available environment ?

imagine that we have an enterprise application with several web

services and we need to run it in a cluster of application servers

(Glassfish)

what are considerations that we should notice for EJBs and web services ?

we need the system to be high available.

does Sun application server support high availabbility?
