ERROR DUring solaris 9 installation

HI , Is any one can help me to identifing this erroe ocure when i m install solaries 9 on my ultra 10 workstation , when i am start installation on my ultra 10 system ,Warining: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@2,0 (dad1)corrupt lable - wrong magic number.thanks.

As you may have guessed, that /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@2,0

device path is pointing to one of your IDE devices.

However, it's NOT one of the default drives, or at least isn't a default path.

See Spectrum Infodoc 21216 for device paths of a number of systems, including the Ultra-10.

Do you have a fourth IDE device in the computer?

Or ...have you been modifying the jumpering on your IDE devices?

The path suggests it is a 4th devicethe secondary slave.

( That's from the dad@2,0 of the text string. )

That all presumes proper OBP patching.

The default CD drive device path, as secondary master, should be reporting as sd@2,0 .

Whatever it is, there's a problem with the media.

If that is a hard drive, then you need to TYPE it and LABEL it.

If it is an optical drive, then your media wasn't written properly.

thanks for the solution , ok i am give you my system configuration information , that is may be eassy for you to solve may system error.

1) I have Ultra 10 sysyem .

2)That have two 9 GB IED hard drives and one IDE cdrom.

3) First 9GB hard drive connect as a primery master.

4)Second 9GB hard drive connect as a secondery master.

5)CDROM connect as a Primery SLAVE.

and i am configure CDROM on "OK" prompt as primery slave with this command.....

nvalias cdrom /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/cdrom@1,0:f

after that when i am run command on "ok " prompt

ok> boot cdrom

that initialize memory then on second line appare with that WERINING

WARINIG: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@2,c(dad1)

currupt lable - wrong magic number

6)after that cdrom stat running and next window appain to select a languge.

7)after that ,

WARINIG: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@2,c(dad1)

currupt lable - wrong magic number

this error appare 6 times

The following root device were found to be upgradeable:

Solaries 9c0t0d0s0

The default root disk is /dev/dsk/cotodo.

The selected disk will be formated before the solaries installation software is copied to the disk.

WARRINING: All information on the disk wiil be erased!

do you want to format /dev/dsk/c0t0d0 [y,n,q]y

To restart the installation , run /sbin/cdo_install.

8)I suppose that have a hard drive problem so type format

#formate

when i type a format the same error display twoise.

9)then display available disk selection 0 and 1 , and i m select disk 1.

when i am select disk 1

selecting sidk c0t2d0

[disk formated, no defect list found]

10)format>repair

controller does not supports automatic defect management.

If any one can help me i am very thank full cuz i m new in sun OS,
