Ultra 10 graphics cards
What is the fastest (or best, based on specs) graphics card that will work in my system?
The Sun Handbook lists several that will work, but I had trouble finding a public consolidated list of graphics cards and their specifications.
I'm particularly interested in a UPA compatible card. I believe it may be the Elite3D m6. Is this correct?

you are probably right... the Elite 3D-m6 is most likely the last, best UPA frame buffer made by Sun...
don't expect to be able to play mpegs or games or anything like a peecee could do... the U10 was a funky desktop that did what it is was supposed to do... nothing more.
what do you want to do with your U10?

Nothing too elaborate... certainly no games or videos, etc. I was just basically looking at my upgrade options for the future. I currently have a Creator3D in there now, though I don't know which series. I noticed that the Elite3Ds also have numbered series.

I am mistaken... there is the XVR-1000... but it isn't supposed to work in the U10 and it would cost many times more than the U10...
I would seriously suggest that you not bother upgrading it... maybe replace the suckie ide drive with scsi (with card)... but nothing else...
have fun with it, just don't expect too much from it!
have fun!

I had read somewhere that someone else was successful in getting a XVR-XXXX card to work in their Ultra 10, but obviously it wasn't supported. I think if I upgrade I'll probably go with the Elite series card.
I just found a really good white paper called "Sun Ultra 10 Just the Facts" that answers a lot of my questions.
Thanks for your help.
