Need help with missing components

Hi,

I have installed Sun One ASP v4.0.2 on Apache 2.x on WinXP Home. I only see three component installed Chili!Mail, Chili!POP3 and Chili!Upload. For all other components I get a message - This component is not avaiable on this server.

Can someone tell me where I can get the rest (Ad Rotator, Browser Capabilities, Content Rotator, etc.) of the components?

Thanks for your time,

joe

This is strange, you should have all the usual components available with ASP 4.0.2 on Windows. The reason you don't see other components is those did not get properly registered themselves in windows registry. You might want to reinstall(uninstall then install back in) asp server 4.0.2 to sort out this issue.

I have installed SUN One ASP so far twice but both the times only Chili components get installed and rest of them are missing. Is it because I am on Win XP Home instead of XP Pro?This is the page I downloaded Sun One ASP from http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=420a8e72

The OS shouldn't matter, look at your install log files: c:\CAspInstall.log, c:\CAspWsInfo.log, c:\SetWiz.log. Other thing to check is your apache web server ASP 4.0.2 is not supported with apache 2.2.x onle 1.3.x and 2.0.x.

I checked the log files but what should I be looking for? I didn't see any entires regarding any failure. I am running Apache 2.0.43. Any ideas as what messing up things?

I think the problem might be a windows xp home edition. I personally never tried installing asp 4.0.2 on home edition, but it seems like Content Rotator and other are not available on windows xp home edition.

The thing is asp 4.0.2 windows bundle comes with Chili!Bean and a couple of other components, the rest are taken from windows OS. If OS doesn't have them installed asp 4.0.2 won't be able to use them.

You can try installing WPS/IIS and/or Visual Studio 6.0 on your machine, those should have the components you need.

The OS could be the issue. The main reason why I installed Sun One Asp is I am running XP home vs XP Pro. With XP Pro and IIS I have no reason to switch to Sun One Asp. By reading the product info I am under impression that Sun One Asp comes will all the components but it's my feeling that it comes with only Chili components and rest are taken from OS if they exist.

I am not sure but hopefully some Sun One Asp guru might be able to say.
