Hi ,

File transfer can be disabled by using policy storage using Access Manager.

You can edit the policy for "Default instant messaging and presence access " where you can deny file transfer.

Now you can add all users for whom you want diable file transfer in the roles for "IM Regular User" .

Note: All the clients, whose Policy / Roles have been modified should be refreshed i.e re-logged in, for the Policy / Roles to take effect

Refer to the below link for more information.

hi vinod, thanks for your reply.

I have load service configuration from /opt/SUNWiim/lib/imService.xml, and i had restart appserver and amserver services. Then, i had add SunIM and SunPresence to Services dan sub organization services.

i have create the policy with amconsole, and set "Ability to Exchange Files" property with deny. But it still can transfer files. Any clues? thanks.

Did you add the organization as subjects of the policy? I just did something similar to this and it works for me as long as the IM user logs in after the policy is changed and saved. Make certain that you save the policy after you change it.

bkdaniel and vinod thanks for the help.

I undeploy the IM from appserver and configure again the IM, create a policy in AM and set the subject. Now it is working .... great.

I have another challenge, is it possible to limit the file transfer size (e.g: max 2mb) and how to do it ?

thanks
