console response

I have a Sun V240 server. When my laptop connects it using the console cable it does not respond to any of the keyboard entry. I tried the reboot. I can see all the messages from rebooting. However when type in "root" nothing shows on the screen. I noticed the message "Sun Fire V240 no keyboard" when it rebooted.

BTW I have got "Access denied" when tried to login remotely. It did not respond to RSC connection either.

What I can do? Any tip/help would be appreciated greatly

Sounds like your cable is broken or not right. Please see the manual that comes with a v240 (also on http://docs.sun.com/) to check if the cable has the right pin layout. And for the "no keyboard" that is normal.

Thanks for your reply. I have check the cable. The pin layout is right. The serial port is also the right on. It works fine with all other V240 boxes. Any idea?
