remote access to user X11 session

hi all,

is there a built-in mechanism to access a user's X11 session within

SRS ? currently i'm configuring SUN's Desktop Manager and there is

an option available that seems to handle exactly this issue. It is called

"Remote Access" within SDM.

I'm running Solaris 10 1/06 latest patch cluster installed.

If there is no built-in mechanism available did anyone some

config/scripting hacks for Xserver startups to enable vncserver

or something like that ?

Thanks in advance

greetings

joerg

The "remote access" setting in the Desktop Manager page is related to the Gnome vino application, which also provides VNC access, but which I'm afraid is not available in Solaris.

A good solution for allowing access to a running X session is to use x11vnc, which is available as a package from http://www.sunfreeware.com. Please also have a look at http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/ for more details, note that there's a section related to Sun Ray usage on that page.
