How to switch off the Solaris 8 native LDAP client?

Dear all,

we have installed the OpenLDAP 2.3.24 on a Sun under Sol 8

in order to set-up a LDAP client by modifying the files /etc/nsswitch.conf

& /etc/pam.conf as directed by the docs.

But when we try to test the nameservice with "id user" the following error

appears:

libsldap: Status: 2 Mesg: Unable to load configuration

'/var/ldap/ldap_client_file' ('').

AFAIK this file has to be there when we want to use the Solaris native ldap client

S/W.

BUT the OpenLDAP client version should be run.

Does this mean that we have to deinstall the Solaris Ldap Client package and/or

how can we switch off Sun's native client?

Thx in advance for your help!

Greetings,

Rainer B.

HI, there,I have the same problem you have: I need to switch off the native ldap client in Solaris 9 and join the openldap client to a Domino Ldap Server. 緾ould you solve it finally? Any idea?Regards.
