are your SunMC server and systemcontrollers also 3.6.1?

Hi Lmd,

You would see a blue folder if:

a) You chose not to install the "High End Systems" addon on your SunMC Server

b) SunMC doesn't recognize the hardware type because:

b1. You changed something in the prom on the 25k so the hardware type reported by "prtdiag" is something SunMC isn't expecting

b2. You have a hardware/firmware version that Sun hasn't baked into the latest release of SunMC yet.

"a)" is most common, and you can simply run "es-inst" again and say "y"es to it.

To check on "b)" you can look at the Family entry in the Info tab of the 25k Agent, then look at the <Family>-family-j.x files on your SunMC Server in /opt/SUNWsymon/classes/base/console/cfg, and you should find a match.

Ok.... I had to install this piece of "something" twice... The first time I got errors on a few directory in /opt/SUNWsymon... They had the group owner of root and not sys, this was a manual fix....... After I fixed this problem I ran the installer again, and everything seems to be working. This was installed on Solaris 10 and obviously needs some more Q&A. I much prefer BMC, however, that's another story... lol
