Problems with Solaris 10 and XVR-100

My organization is starting to upgrade machines from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10. We have run into a problem with the XVR-100 graphics card and Solaris 10 using a lot more CPU than on Solaris 8 when running an inhouse developed application that uses OpenGL to display simple 2D graphics. It appears that the problem is with the driver for the XVR-100 on Solaris 10 because it all works fine with the same hardware on Solaris 8, and the application works fine on Solaris 10 if I use a XVR-500 graphics card. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there something I can try to find out how to fix the problem?

Don't know if you are still interrested in some information for this topic ?

Here an information I ran into at ...

Sun OpenGL for Solaris Software

The Sun OpenGL 1.5 for Solaris software supports the Sun XVR-100 graphics accelerator through software implementation.

If you require Sun OpenGL for Solaris to run certain applications, download the Sun OpenGL 1.3 for Solaris software from the following site:

http://wwws.sun.com/software/graphics/opengl/download.html

Which version of OpenGL are you using?

Since Solaris 10 1/06 delivers OpenGL 1.5 as standard , may be going back to OpenGL 1.3 , even on Solaris 10 may help !

Good Luck

Walter
