PE1, PE2, PE3 and PE4 (hardware) Sun Creditation

Call me silly

I am trying to work out what the acronym's refer to. Where can I find information on the above mentioned accreditations? I have tried searching for it on the internet but have found nothing. I am sure there is a simple answer to my queries but I am only new to the world of Sun.

Please Help!!!!

HUH ?

You're going to have to describe the context a bit more.

Your question is rather vague.

Are you referring to some sort of certification of expertise,

that would come from passing an examination?

... or are you referring to some sort of employee job categories ?

That appears to be with regard to some sort of job requirements.

Is that from Sun directly, or from one of their various tech-support partner companies?

North America? Europe? Asia?

If it is from one of the partner companies,

then those names (PE1, PE2, etc) are something invented by that company,

so that they can show Sun that they've trained you to some level of competency.

In a past incarnation as a Sun hardware support engineer,

I went through many training classes on Sun products.

All I accomplished was that I satisfied the requirements

that were written into my Sun Microsystems job description.

Thus I was able to keep my job.
