Storedge 3310 Configuration Service Console - Agent not communicating

We have been using a storedge 3310 array configured as one big

logical device on the primary controller. Its attached to a v480 server.

The array has been previously configured and running our apps for

some time.

I installed the Storedge Configuration Service Agent, CLI, and Diagnostic

Reporter Agent all successsfully on the v480 server.

I can use the sccli command line i/f without problems.

However, my Config Service Console (installed on a different computer)

cannot communicate with the agent daemon. Its keeps reporting a timed

out connection and warning me the server may be down. The ssmon and

ssserver daemons are up and running.

There are no network problems, because I can telnet into the server and

we've been using the applications on the server for some time. Furthermore

there are services listenting on ports 1270 and 7409, the daemons for the

agent and reporter.

I can connect my Reporter Config Tool to the Reporter Agent, but after that a

probe of the sscs agent results in a "agent state is unknown".

There are references to modifying the sd.conf file to recognize multiple

LUNS under one target ID. I did not do the initial install of the storage array

and it looks like the array is one big (RAID 5) drive to the server.

There are no log entires in the syslog or messages files.

Dont know how to proceed next.........

Turns out it was a version mismatch - the service console was installed fromOct 2002 media, and the agent install was off the July 2003 media. Can't believe all the troubleshooting I did before casaully noticing this.
