How to gain the maximum disk space on SE3510.

Hi guys,

According to customers' requirement, I should find a best way to have maximum capacity of SE3510 FC + 3510 EU. Each unit contains 12 disks. I think I have to setup 1 global spare disk for each box. Therefore, I have totally 22 300G disks for configuration.

I would like to gain more disks space meanwhile I should prove its redundancy. So far I have veritas volume manager 4.1 in hand. I think I have at least two choices.

One, divide my disk arrays as four RAID0 LUNs. Then, create a RAID-5 volume which contains these four LUNs.

Another, divide my disk arrays as four RAID-5 LUNs, Then, create a RAID-0 volume to combine them together.

However, I am a newbie of this field. Do you think which is the best way to go or do you have any other good idea?

Thanks!

Jeff.

Done by using vea. newfs -T -s .... etc.
