Boot by SAN

I have a Sun StorEdge A3500FC e a server Sun Enterprise 4500.Would I like to know if I can boot from the SAN, because I don't have internal disk in this server.Could anybody give me a hand?

A3500FC wasn't supported on a SAN. (At least not that I recall.)If you direct connect the A3500 to the server then it won't be SAN boot but it will work. Just make sure you have a copy of RM6 on an other node connected to that box in case you need to fix a bad root LUN.

I hope that this setup is not really important. Those A3500FC's must be End of Service Life (EOSL) by now giving the normal 5 years after EOL. But the good thing is that the D1000's have a few years service left in them.

I heard a rumour from Sun that they might extend the A3500FC for one more year if you already have a contract that covers them.
