n00b question. Please help.
I've recently managed to procure an old Sun Storedge a1000 and haven't a clue on how to get it set up. I have a Dell PERC 2 SCSI card running on a Windows 2000 machine. How do I set it up on this? Thanks.

... and that SCSI card had better be a High-Voltage Differential card, else you're just out of luck.
HVD cards are not common in the PC universe.
S/E and LVD cards are incompatible with the A1000 and the D1000.
260watts continuous pull,
1100BTU/hr heat output
65dB continuous noise level.

I hope you've putting it into a proper data enclosure.

it is a raid card, so it is LVD... I have never seen a HVD raid card.. and I have looked everywhere...you cannot convert the A1000 into LVD... you will need to get a HVD or differential scsi card and use software raid.aahhhh, peecees!haroldkarl
