Diff b/n QLA2342 and SG-XPCI2FC-QF2

Hi all,Please let me know the difference between QLogic QLA2342 and SUN SG-XPCI2FC-QF2 HBA cards.I see there is a lot of cost variation between these two. TIA,Sarat.

When you buy the HBA from Sun you get Sun support. If you buy an HBA form someone else then you have to deal with that vendor ... which could be difficult given the rest of the items in the stack. (Array, switches, driver stack, app, etc.)

The Sun branded HBA's do have a different flash..... If the cards are QLogic direct you might run into problems down the road such as probe-scsi-all might not pick-up the disks, etc..... Don't get me wrong, the QLogic cards will work, but save yourself a few headaches and get the Sun branded cards if you can afford them.....

If you do have the Sun branded cards, check for recent firmware upgrades.......

For the qlogic cards it depends if they have bios or fcode on them. In the past that was an issue but, from what I've seen recenly, most of the new cards have both.
