Can you tell me what you have done to your host and what OS it is running? Eg, did you put the SAN foundation kit on and did you modify the appropriate files for the system to understand that it is a HP storage?Stephen

HP HBA's you say? Thats interesting. I have never known anyone to use a HP HBA and I do not know if Sun actually supports that configuration. Sun supports Emulux, Qlogic and JNI. Perhaps there is actually no driver for those HBA's?Do you have a part number for the

If you can get into sunsolve, you might be able to find your answer. I found the following snippet that was produced when trying to do a prtvtoc on a HP EVA 8000.

... logs the following: WARNING: fp2: no driver for device @w50001fe1500704e8,0: compatible: scsiclass,0c ... scsiclass,0c scsiclass WARNING: fp2: no driver for device @w50001fe1500704ec,0: compatible: scsiclass,0c ... that you are using "qlc" driver, not the "qla" driver: root@epd1 # pkginfo | grep -i ...

So if you have an account, you might find the answer. Looks pretty similiar eh? I know there are issues with the HP arrays. I am bound to find out soon as a group at our work just wheeled in an EVA 8000 and will probably expect me to help them. If they had of asked, I would have given them storage from my HDS...

If they are HP HBAs then you need to use the configuration utilities that come with the HBA. The Sun commands probably won't work.
