Solaris 7 - HBA card

Hello,

I have the following 2 cards which I want to install on a Solaris 7 E250 server.

SG-XPCI1FC-QF4

SG-XPCI1FC-QL2

I can't find the drivers from qlogic or sun's site. maybe im not looking hard enough. Can someone point me to the right spot?

looks like the minimum OS is Solaris 8... and I don't think that either card will work/fit an E250... looks like both cards are PCI-X...good luck,haroldkarl

I think you could be in luck with the SG-XPCI1FC-QL2 as it is on the handbook for the E250.

However, you have lucked out with the SG-XPCI1FC-QF4 as there is no chance you will make one of those work in a E250. These cards require the new I/O assemblies for the large Sun Fires.

I think the SG-XPCI1FC-QL2 is rebadged Qlogic QLA2300 (I am not certain of this but I will give it a go in the future) . Go to the Qlogic web site:

You will find the drivers there.

Any Sun HBAs of recent origin, like the past 4 years +, require Solaris 8 and greater. Technically, Solaris 8 04/01 and higher though you can get around that too if need be. Solaris 8 is the minimum.
