split-bus vs single-bus

Just bought a 3320 and is about to configure it for multiuser home accounts. Still after some reading in the manuals (e.g. the best practices manual) I have some configuration thoughts I would like to get feedback on.

- The 3320 is connected to a v440 with a PCI/PCI-X Dual 320 HBA.

- The 3320 is now configured for split-bus.

- 7+1 discs in one raid5 logical drive with 2 partitions assigned to primary controller (the 2nd partition is too small to be on a logical drive on its own).

- write-back cache disabled (only one controller card with dual channels)

My first question is about the bus mode, single or split? Is split really a good idea when having just one logical drive in raid5 (the best practices manual says it should be in single-bus mode)? Could you please elaborate on this...

Second, if I use split-bus can I connect two scsi-cables two the host and therefore get better performance? I suppose I would if a got more than one logical drive?

Third and last, in the Firmware manual it says that one should be able to map LUNs/partitions two different channels though I can only map my partitions to the primary controller channel. What have I missed?

Any other feedback would be nice as well

Nevermind, I just reconfigured the disks to two LDs on one channel each.
