memory usage and access checking with sunstudio11 on x86

I can use neither the Menu "Debug" -> "Memory" -> "Check Access"-> " Check Usage"

These memu items are grayed out and unusable. We would really be jumping with joy if we could use this feature on an x86 box.

For reference:

uname -a

>>>SunOS kosh 5.10 Generic_118844-01 i86pc i386 i86pc

Is this a user error? Or is this feature just unavailable? If so, will it be available soon?

Thanks,

Tenia

For sunstudio 11, "Debug" -> "Memory" -> "Check Usage" should be working on x86, "Check Access" is greyed out.You need to load app first in debugger and turn on "Check Usage".For sunstudio12, next release,"Check Access" will be supported on x86.

We're working on x86 support for access checking, and we expect it tobe available in Sun Studio 12, but we can't officially promise featuresin the next FCS. Many things may change between now and then.--chris
