Studio 11 Locked up

I've been using Sun Studio 11 on Solaris 10 for SPARC since it was released and use it every day and up until today everything has been fine, when I started it this morning the IDE appeared but the entire contents were grey and it would only respond to a kill, I tried a couple of times no joy so I removed all the /tmp files and removed the /.sunstudio directory. This time it started up just fine so I went to add mount a filesystem the mount dialog box appear and this was grey then the IDE hung again

any ideas ?
