Both Cluster Interconnects in same VLAN?

We connect our cluster nodes over a switched Ethernet Network with VLANS. Usually we have 2 different VLANs, each dedicated to one interconnect. For the last cluster, the networking people have assigned both interconnects to the same VLAN.

I was able to configure the cluster, but now I get following messages in /avr/adm/messages

Oct 22 16:39:48 sw9071p ip: [ID 903730 kern.warning] WARNING: IP: Hardware address'00:00:00:00:00:01' trying to be our address 172.016.193.001!

Is the network setup with just one VLAN for the Interconnects the reason for this messages? Is it not possible/allowed/supported to have both interconnects in the same VLAN?

No, this setup is not allowed. You need 2 dedicated interconnects, i.e. in your case 2 dedicated, different VLANs. I am sure this is documented.RegardsHartmut

I finally got the second VLAN, so now my interconnects are independent. Since this change i have no longer any syslog entries regarding the address conflict.

On the other hand, except the syslog messages, the cluster worked fine even with both interconnects in the same VLAN, although not under heavy load.
