Hi,you just need to burn it as ISO on a DVD burner... :-)

sol-9-u8-ga-sparc-dvd-iso-a ? How big is it? Sounds like you just got one of the parts of the Solaris ISO image, and hence have to download the -b, -c and other parts of it, then you merge them and burn it. .7/M.

Review the instructions, one more time.

"Solaris Operating Systems - Download and Burning Instructions"

http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/download_instruction.xml

Perhaps you missed some small item in them, such as

you may have had a typo when you concatenated the files,

and they were accidentally NOT joined as binary files.
