Sendmail patch (config file overwritten)

Hello.The 122857-04 patch unconditionally overwrote my /etc/mail/sendmail.cf config.Is this normal behavior ?M.C>I was redirected from patch forum ( http://forum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=109284 ).

Yes, thats normal, unfortunately.For some reason, sun has never developed a clue and realised that people might have a problem with their mail suddenly stopping working.You will need to regenerate your sendmail.cf from the mc.robertcohen at 2007-7-7 3:02:27 >

Well, it should save the old sendmail.cf as /etc/mail/sendmail.cf_<patchnumber> or _<old>.. take a look in the /etc/mail directory. .7/M.mAbrante at 2007-7-7 3:02:27 >
