Installing Solaris 9 on x86 platform laptop

can i install Solaris on Lenovo Single core intel processor laptopplz. help

Solaris 9 for x86 ?Probably not, unless that's an old laptop.Go through the Hardware Compatibility List http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/You will need to know your own hardware components,down to a chip-level, to make a proper determination.

In my first response, I use some emphasis on the Solaris "9".I used bold when I should have added underlining as well as italics.Solaris 9 == don't bother. It will probably not work.Use Solaris 10, instead.

Sir,

i tried Installing Solaris 10 on my Laptop.... it ask for Local with option of different languages.after selecting English it ask for other parameters like networked, kerbaros, NIS etc... everything goes well until when it comes for display of some graphical window...after that a window like diagonaly stretched rectangle appears where i cann't see anything...everything is converted to dashed lines...one thing i want to tell you that my Display 15.4' Wide screen laptop..is it the cause of problem...please tell me the solution
