Jumpstart with sun4u flash archive will be installed ok on sun4v?

Hi,

When using a custom jumpstart DVD with a flash archive installation created on a sun4u host, will it still use the DVD slices 2-6 for kernel compatability when installing a sun4v (T1000) machine?

The flash archive was created from the Entire Distribution+OEM packages.

Thanks

From what I know, Flash archives don't work across platforms.ie...sun4u archives won't work with sun4m hardware.I'm assuming the same's true for the newer platforms as well...Then again -- it IS an assumption.

I asked Sun this very question a couple months ago and they confirmed that since it is a different architecture, you need to have a sun4v flash image for the T1000.

They also confirmed that the T1000 images should work fine on a T2000, since they're both sun4v. Just thought I'd throw that in there in case someone is looking for that answer as well.
