S10 6/06 (sparc) and patch 121453-02
Perhaps this has been discussed, but my search came up empty.
I'm trying to install a fresh S10 6/06 OS along with the recommended patch cluster. One of the recommended patches, 121453-02 appears to be only partially pre-installed. All pieces but the "SUNWbreg" and "SUNWdc" packages have been folded into the 6/06 release.
The problem is, by all documentation, 121453-02 is the method by which to add in the "SUNWbreg" and "SUNWdc" packages, and they pieces will not install either with "patchadd" (even with -u) or "smpatch" of 121453-02. "patchadd" complains about:
The following requested patches have packages not installed on the system
Package SUNWbreg from directory SUNWbreg in patch 121453-02 is not installed on the system. Changes for package SUNWbreg will not be applied to the system.
Package SUNWdc from directory SUNWdc in patch 121453-02 is not installed on the system. Changes for package SUNWdc will not be applied to the system.
"smpatch add -i 121453-02" appears to work, and gives no errors, but doesn't install the relevant two packages.
At this point, I'm stumped. Any ideas (other than manually copying in the appropriate files) to get 121453-02 to "finish" installing into S10 6/06? Thanks in advance for any replies.
