failed to program IO space - message when booting

Hello,

After applying some patches on Solaris 10 86, I'm receiving the following error messsage:

WARNING: failed to program IO space [0/31/5] BAR@0x10 length 0x100

and then

NOTICE PCI 8086,1076 e1000g[0]: Adapter 100 Mbps half duplex copper link is up.

Note: The switch is configure 100Mbps Full Duplex

Result: I cannot logon the server using the console - keyboard does not work, but I can access the server through telnet.

I found on the Sun web site that some patches should fix the problem. Those are jar files.

I booted on the Solaris CD, start the installation in Jump Start mode and after replying to many question, we can exit normally and then we have the console. We are in limited Solaris mode. I mounted a CD with the fixes and No Luck - No jar on the server to decompress the 4 jar files.

What do you recommend?

Is there a way I can rollback the latest Sun patches in command mode?

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Cordially,

Michel

Can I install jar?

Well, the sun patches comes in two different packages these days.

The ordinary .zip files and the .jar files. The .jar files are signed and are meant to be used with the smpatch utility. The idea with them is to ensure that they are not tampered with (or so i suppose).

If you are having problems with the jarfiles you should go to sunsolve.sun.com and find the zip files, they are available at the same page as the jar patches, just click next to the "unsigned" text.
